Q: How do I know my entry form was received?
A: You should receive an automated confirmation after submitting your entry.Q: Is there an ADA viewing area?
A: Yes. Limited ADA viewing spaces will be available near the Old Town Newhall Library driveway on Lyons Avenue. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.Q: How do I know my payment was received?
A: Payments are only accepted through Eventbrite. Cash and checks are not accepted.Q: When is the entry form due?
A: Entry forms are due by 5:00 p.m. on June 10 to avoid a late fee. Entries submitted after June 10 will be subject to a late fee. No entries will be accepted after June 17.Q: Can I drop off my forms in person?
A: No. Registration is completed online only. Liability waivers should be printed, completed in advance, and brought to parade check-in.Q: How do I pay the entry fee?
A: Payment is accepted through Eventbrite.Q: How long is the parade route?
A: The parade route is approximately two miles, with a slight uphill incline in some areas. Participants should plan transportation from the end of the route, preferably near Dalbey Drive.Q: Do spectators need to fill out any forms?
A: No. Forms are only required for parade participants.Q: What happens if an entry violated parade rules last year?
A: Rule violations or misconduct may result in a minimum one-year suspension from participating in the parade.Q: What is happening at Newhall Park after the parade?
A: There is no official public event scheduled at Newhall Park after the parade.Q: Can vendors sell items during the parade?
A: Vendors may not interfere with the parade route or line of march. Vendors are responsible for having any required licenses or permits, including a valid business license and, if selling food, a Los Angeles County health permit.Q: Why can vendors sell Silly String if it cannot be used during the parade?
A: The City regulates the use of Silly String and similar items on the parade route. Propelling Silly String or other substances into the line of march is prohibited by City ordinance.Q: Where should I park?
A: Parking is available where legally permitted. Please watch for temporary “No Parking” signs near the parade route, as vehicles parked in restricted areas may be towed. Parade vehicles will receive parking instructions at check-in.Q: Who must sign the Liability Waiver?
A: Every adult participant must sign a waiver. A parent or guardian must sign for each minor participant under age 18.Q: What if I do not have all waiver signatures before parade day?
A: All required signatures must be completed before checking in on parade day.Q: Can I register online?
A: Yes. Registration is online only.Q: How do I find information about the 5K run?
A: Please visit the Santa Clarita Runners website for information about the 5K.Q: Can an individual child enter the parade with a decorated bike?
A: Yes. A child may enter as an individual participant. Children riding bikes must wear a helmet, and children under age 10 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. An entry form, liability waiver, and non-commercial entry fee are required.Q: Does my nonprofit group have to pay the non-commercial entry fee?
A: Yes. Nonprofit and community groups are required to pay the non-commercial entry fee.Q: My business does charitable work. Do we pay the commercial or non-commercial entry fee?
A: Businesses, including gyms, dance teams, karate studios, and similar organizations, are considered commercial entries and must pay the commercial entry fee.Q: A company is sponsoring our nonprofit entry and their logo will be displayed. Which fee applies?
A: The commercial entry fee applies if a company logo, vehicle, or advertising is displayed as part of the entry.Q: A company is only paying our nonprofit entry fee and will not be advertised. Which fee applies?
A: The non-commercial entry fee applies if the company is only paying the fee and will not be promoted during the parade.Q: Does my child need to wear a helmet while riding a bike, skateboard, scooter, or skates?
A: Yes. Helmets are required for participants under age 18 using bikes, skateboards, scooters, skates, or similar equipment. Adults are strongly encouraged to wear helmets.Q: Can we give away candy or other items from our parade entry?
A: Items may be handed directly to spectators by someone walking alongside the crowd. Throwing items, including candy, flags, literature, or giveaways, is not allowed. Spectators may not run up to floats or vehicles to receive items. Balls are not allowed on the parade route for safety reasons.
